Margaret A. Searle

Margaret Searle is a nationally-known education consultant in the area of RTI, co-teaching, academic and behavior problem-solving and innovative teaching techniques.
Her professional experience includes teaching K–8, middle and elementary principal, K–12 supervisor and adjunct professor for Ashland University. She served as an education advisor to President George H. W. Bush.
Margaret is the author of the Ohio Department of Education’s Treasure Chest on standards-based instruction (2004) as well as What to Do When You Don't Know What to Do - Building a Pyramid of Interventions (2007).  Her most recent book published by ASCD is What Every School Leader Needs to Know About RTI (2010).  The DVD entitled RTI in the Secondary Schools as well as an on-line RTI course are also available from ASCD.
Currently, Margaret is President of the consulting firm Searle Enterprises, Inc., based in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Joan A. Love

Joan Love taught for thirty years in various schools and grade levels in northwest Ohio. For the past ten years, she has been an adjunct professor for the University of Findlay, Toledo University, Ashland University, and Owens Community College. With particular expertise in technology, Joan has served as a district Technology System Operator, was a founding member and trainer of the Ohio SchoolNet educational development program, and has presented nationally for AT&T Telecommunications. Other areas of expertise include such topics as Response to Intervention, Differentiated Units and Teaching Strategies, Assessment Mapping, co-teaching and Intervention Assistance Teams.

Marilyn L.  Swartz 

Marilyn is a national and international presenter and consultant. She has completed doctoral studies in leadership and professional development and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.  Marilyn taught in both general and special education. She has been a curriculum director, a consultant for a special education regional resource center (SERRC) and involved in school improvement work with the Ohio State Support Team.   She serves on the governing board for the Ohio Association of Curriculum Development (OASCD) and the Staff Development Council of Ohio (SDCO).  Areas of expertise include curriculum development, Marzano’s research-based teaching and behavior strategies, response to intervention (RTI), intervention assistance teams (IAT), differentiation, co-teaching and the development of integrated systems models.

Dr. Mary Jane Roberts

Mary Jane received her B.S.Ed, M.Ed, and Ph.D. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She has held positions in special education and Title I, and served as assistant elementary principal and elementary principal in the public school system. At the college level, Mary Jane has been an instructor in Early Childhood Education, and an adjunct professor in Curriculum in the EDL Department at Miami University.
